Hello Everyone! This month my Glo Gives Back Beneficiary is a local non-profit:
Open Heart Kitchen
This non-profit is a local food bank that makes hot food and provides pre-made lunches to low income children in the Dublin/Livermore/Pleasanton area. I will be collecting food and dontating my time to help make the pre-packed lunches for these children and families. Look for places like this in your community that you can volunteer at! Always keep looking for the Glo!
This weekend I participated in the CSUEB Relay For Life!
It was one of the most inspirational events and it was to touching to see how many students got together to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. I received a t-shirt for raising over $100 on my own. I am still fundraising until the end of May, so if you can, donate!
Pictures and Videos coming soon!
Each month during the 2012 year, I plan to give back to a non-profit or a community event. This May I am participating in the Relay for Life at my college in Hayward. I have lost 5 family members to cancer. During the fundraising, I have committed to raise $300 dollars (roughly $50 per family member that I have lost to cancer). So far I am halfway to reaching my goal.
If you would like to give to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Event, please do! There are so many cities across the U.S that are participating.
I hope that giving back to a cause each month will inspire members of my community to give back as well.
Find your inner GLO and go for it!
